Privacy policy

Overview

We don't track how you use this website in any way. For technical reasons, we keep web server log files for no more than 7 days and mail server log files for no more than 10 days. We only use this data when there's a technical problem or someone abuses our services. We never share it with anyone outside the company unless you explicitly ask us to. Read on to see how we handle the email you send us.

You'll find the details below, and the person responsible for data privacy at the end of this page.

No court order or anything else has ever forced us to break these rules.

Website www.g10code.com

This website uses log files to spot problems with the site and to watch traffic for abuse. We keep the raw log files for no more than one week and then delete them.

We don't share the log files with anyone. During that first week, however, system administrators can access them to fix technical problems. In exceptional cases, we may keep stripped-down copies longer to analyze problems that span more than a week. We delete these copies as soon as we no longer need them to solve the problem.

Email system

We keep mail system log files for no more than 10 days to analyze technical problems and fight spam. We check the IP addresses and sender addresses of incoming mail against our local blocklists and allowlists, and we also check IP addresses against DNS-based blocklists. All mail travels with TLS encryption whenever the other side supports it.

An automated ticket system may store and process the email you send us. It forwards messages to the addresses the sender requests and to the people g10 Code assigns to handle service requests. We treat all email sent to addresses at gnupg.com or g10code.com as business correspondence and archive it in a ticket system. That includes email addresses and names as well as the content of the messages. Customers may get temporary access to the ticket system, limited to messages directly related to their own service requests. We don't archive messages that are clearly spam.
